August 17, 2023 marks the Culmination of Clean Ports, Clean Oceans: A Celebration of Eco-Success at the Port of Cagayan de Oro. Hand in hand with Philippine Ports Authority, Grieg Foundation, and World Wide Fund for Nature
WWF-Philippines, we recognize the different departments in Port of CDO who gladly participated in the Trash to Cashback Program, reshaping waste management, and celebrating cleaner ports and oceans.
One of the important
highlights of the culmination is the signing of a strategic action plan as part of the Port of CDO's commitment in sustaining port waste management.
A total of 1,946.77 kg of recyclables were collected and formed part of the waste leakage reduction over the span of 10 months. This solution is seen to be potentially replicated in different ports in the Philippines, and around the world.
